Sales and Marketing Assistant

Compensation: Dependent on experience

Marketing services and software company specializing in B2B marketing for the hard goods industry (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.) is seeking a Sales and Marketing Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position. Some travel required.

The Sales and Marketing Assistant works with the Sales Manager, President, Executive Vice President and Vice President to develop and implement sales and marketing stragtegies. The Sales and Marketing Assistant is also resopnsible for the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

TRADESHOWS

  • Books all travel arrangements including airfare, hotel, car rental, etc.
  • Inventory marketing materials for shows and ensure all are up-to-date and current.
  • Pack marketing materials, booth display items, catalogs and any other items needed for the tradeshow.
  • Required to attend and represent the company at various tradeshows around the country (typically between 5 to 7 trades shows per year).
  • Represents the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Discusses software and services with prospects, maintain relationships with current customers and inform prospects and current customers of new features and services.
  • Works with upper management and project managers to create contact list for current customers and prospects.
  • Reaches out to all contacts before and during tradeshow events and follow up with all contacts upon return from tradeshow.

MARKETING

  • Streamline all marketing outlets and materials including brochures, fliers, social media posts and the company website to ensure consistency.
  • Create email blasts, nagazine ads and other advertising copy as needed.
  • Maintain and track communications with current customers, helping them in any way possible and informing them of new features and services.

SALES

  • Perform online sales presentations for prospects.
  • Create, submit,track and record proposals, invoices and contracts for prospects and customers.
  • Perform various sales tasks including follow up calls, recording and tracking sales and lead information in a CRM system, creating call lists and testing demo sites.
  • Work with the Executive Vice President to prepare PowerPoint presentations and dialogue for use in sales training classes, online sales presentations and confernce seminars.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Create, submit and track invoices.
  • Submit quarterly and yearly sales and rebate reports to buying groups.
  • Perform various administrative tasks such as scheduling meeting, filing, ordering marketing materials, shippingpackages, ordering business cards, tracking company credit cards purchases and any other tasks necessary as requested by upper management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or Journalism a plus.
  • The ability to multitask and take on a lot of projects at the same time, sometimes with little to no supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ablility to track and complete important tasks.
  • Superb communication, writing and editing skills.
  • Experience writing advertising copy, web copy, news articles, blogs, etc. is a plus
  • Proficiency is Micorsoft Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook is a must.
